Things you should be aware of....
The way in which relationships are re-negotiated in the aftermath of divorce is crictical to the future well-being of all family members. When parents are able to redefine their own relationships, it allows their children to maintain healthy relationships with both parents and creates a new functional family system. Research shows that children's adjustment to divorce is strongly affected by their parent's level of conflict. The parental relationship does not end when their is divorce but must be renegotiated.
Mediation is valuable in that it encourages parties to cooperate for their own benefits. This is a distinct contrast to the traditional method of divorce settlement using only attorneys and the court process. We will show you how to overcome obstacles and build your custody agreement so that each family member can live with it. The mediator is the key to this process. Mediators help you make your own decisions by providing a safe, neutral, supportive, and nonjudgemental environment. The mediator will guide you through the process of decision making and then draw up your agreement for you to submit to the court if you decide. Mediation offer you hope for the future while saving you time, money, relationship and emotional energy.
